Hello Matt, although I clicked on your story to disagree with you, I do think you made some great points and glad to see this outlook coming from a professor who teaches others. However, I doubt all theatre professors think this way and most people hiring also won't see a student with a theatre degree as someone who possesses all of these skills. Like you mentioned, storytelling is HUGE nowadays in business, so maybe students can receive a degree in theatre and storytelling or theatre with an emphasis on marketing? Or a major shakeup in the curriculum to make these students more appealing if they choose to enter the business world or when they finish their career as a performer. Just some of my thoughts, but great post and thank you for sharing.
